FAQs

My computer is being slow. What can I do to make it faster?

There are a lot of different factors that can add up and slow your computer down but below is a short list of things that you can do to help restore some of that lost speed.

Free up some space on your hard drive – If you hard drive space is below 10GB free space then it can start to affect your computers performance, so empty your recycle bin and delete files within your downloads folder to help free up some space.

Delete unwanted programs – Doing this also frees up some space from your hard drive and can stop unwanted programs from starting up with the computer which slows it down.

Perform a disk defrag – If your hard drive is badly fragmented this can also take a toll on your computers performance, Run this just before going to sleep as it can take quite some time to complete once started.

If you still feel that your computer is being sluggish then give us a ring as one of our technicians will be able to do more advanced steps to speed up your computer.

There are lots of reasons why your emails my have stopped working but the most common reasons are

Lack of internet connectivity – Check that you are connected to the internet by trying to load a web page, if the web page is failing to load then check the ethernet cables connected to your computer or that you are connected to a wireless network and reboot your modem and try again.

Wrong username or password – If you have recently changed your email account password then it needs to be updated in the email client that you use in the account settings. E-mail configuration help can be found in our knowledge base.

SMTP Settings – If you have recently changed your ISP and since the change you cant send emails then the outgoing mail server/SMTP server that was configured for your email account was specific to your old ISP and is no longer available. The solution is to reconfigure the account to use your new ISP SMTP server. Refer to our knowledge base for a list of common SMTP server settings.
